Lydia P. Swift
After seeing the remount of Fiorello! in 2008, Lydia was instantly hooked on TimeLine.
What wasn’t memorable about Fiorello!? The story steeped in history, the attention to detail, the phenomenal talent, PJ in a fat suit!
She joined the TimeLine staff as development manager in 2009, where she is responsible for raising just under a million dollars in contributed income annually and cultivating a healthy fundraising portfolio.
I’m so fortunate to be surrounded by incredibly talented and smart people every day. People who have chosen to collectively focus their considerable energy and skills on executing and elevating TimeLine’s mission of exploring history. Each production gives you so much to talk about and it thrills me to see members of the community engaged in that kind of thoughtful conversation. It doesn’t seem to happen nearly enough in the world. I’m so proud to be a part of TimeLine’s history.
During Lydia’s tenure, TimeLine received the American Theater Wing’s National Theater Company Grant, contributed income has increased by 119%, and all contributed income streams, including the Annual Fund, institutional grants, and special events, have been strengthened and developed to support the organization’s goals.
Prior to joining TimeLine, Lydia served as the Development Associate for four years at Victory Gardens Theater. As part of a three-person development department, Lydia supported all areas of VGT’s fundraising, including the $11.8 million capital campaign to move VGT’s Mainstage to the historic Biograph Theater, two major benefits each season, and raising nearly $1.5 million for the theater’s general operations.
Lydia is a native of Bryn Mawr, Pa. and a graduate of Lake Forest College with a BA degree in Communications, Sociology and Anthropology with a Theater Minor.
