TimeLine Theatre Company is seeking customer service-oriented candidates for this part-time position (20-25 hours/week), house managing every performance of TimeLine’s In the Next Room or the vibrator play, presented at Stage 773. Evening and weekend availability is an absolute must, as well as availability during Thanksgiving weekend (no show on Thanksgiving)! This position is temporary, starting by October 16 and ending on December 16, 2017, with the possibility of extending pending company needs.

  • Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Act as sole House Manager for all performances (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons and evenings, and Sunday afternoons).
    • Represent TimeLine Theatre Company while we are producing off-site at Stage 773 (all other season shows are performed at our home space on Wellington Avenue).
    • Work with Stage 773’s Box Office, as well as TimeLine’s Stage Management and Production Assistants, to coordinate the smooth operation of the house before, during, and after performances, post-show discussions, and other events.
    • Orient and train volunteer ushers.
    • Prepare and distribute House Management Reports after every performance.
    • Ensure the safety of patrons and staff and maintain readiness to implement emergency procedures.
    • Listen to and address patron issues, questions, and concerns in a friendly and efficient manner.
    • Be knowledgeable about the company, our mission, current productions, current season, upcoming events, and how they may affect house operations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • Must be available for all performances Wednesday through Sunday, October 20 – December 16, 2017, including Thanksgiving weekend (no show on Thanksgiving).
    • Prior experience performing high volume customer service-related work.
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
    • Ability to work independently with good judgement and attention to detail.
    • Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in all situations.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven ability to be self-motivated, assume responsibility and take initiative.
    • Ability to effectively identify and communicate issues or problems.
    • Ability to be punctual for the assigned shifts.
    • Must be computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
    • Experience working with an arts organization is a plus.
    • Experience with emergency situation management is a plus
    • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus

    Training can begin as soon as possible, but no later than the week of October 16, 2017. This position reports to the Audience Services Manager and the Front of House Manager.

    General Schedule (slight variations may apply due to events, discussions, etc.):
    Wednesdays: 6:15pm – end of show
    Thursdays: 6:15pm – end of show
    Fridays: 6:45pm – end of show
    Saturdays: 2:45pm – end of 8:00pm show (two-show day)
    Sundays: 12:45pm – end of show

    Compensation: $11.00 per hour

    Start Date: Week of Monday, October 16, 2017, or sooner if possible
