Please Note: During our 2024-25 Season, TimeLine will be partnering with other venues and theatres. We have gathered general information about accessible services at all three of our locations and provided links to learn more below.
Mobility
Admin Office (5539 N. Broadway)
Our temporary administrative headquarters is not accessible to people who use wheelchairs or mobility devices. There are 19 stairs leading to our second-floor suite. However, any TimeLine staff member would be happy to relocate meetings to more accessible spaces.

Assistive Listening Devices
Generally, RF assistive listening devices are available at all TimeLine partner venues. Instructions for check-out are subject to change.
Falsettos at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave., Chicago
- Complimentary assisted listening devices are available at the box office. A photo ID is required to reserve.
Debate: Baldwin vs. Buckley at DePaul’s Cortelyou Commons, 2324 N. Fremont St., Chicago
- Complimentary assisted listening devices are available from TimeLine staff. A photo ID or other collateral is required to reserve.
Dhaba on Devon Avenue at Writers Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe
- Assistive listening devices can be reserved in advance through the Writers Box Office by phone at 847-242-6000. The devices are offered free of charge; a photo ID is required as security.
- T-coil induction loop technology is also available in Writers Theatre spaces.
Open Captioning
Open captioning is a text display of words and sounds heard during an event. The display is positioned in such a way that it is open for anyone to see in a particular seating area.
Open captioning is a service primarily provided for people with hearing disabilities who use assistive listening devices, hearing aids, cochlear implants, sign language and lip reading. It is a service you may choose to use or ignore during the performance.

Captioning at Debate: Baldwin vs. Buckley is provided by c2 Inc. c2 Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit company, pioneered and introduced live theatrical captioning for patrons with hearing loss and is responsible for launching theatre captioning programs around the country. They have collaborated with theatres nationwide, including Broadway and off-Broadway theatres, the Kennedy and Lincoln Centers, national performing arts venues and touring houses, and top-shelf regional Tony theatres, large and small, coast to coast.
Audio Description and Touch Tours
Audio description is a service which allows patrons to access the visual experience of our performances. A live narrator gives verbal descriptions of actions, costumes, scenery, and other visual elements via a handheld device delivered to patrons before the show.

Audio Description Equipment is loaned out to TimeLine Theatre by Cultural Access Collaborative with special thanks to the Chicago Academy of Sciences / Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
ASL-Interpretation
ASL-Interpreted performances are offered for two of the shows in our 2024-2025 season.

- Saturday, December 7 at 2pm
Dhaba on Devon Avenue at Writers Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe
- ASL-Interpreted performances will be offered on an as-needed basis. For information about scheduling an ASL Interpreter for your performance, contact boxoffice@writerstheatre.org or 847-242-6000. We ask for at least 2 weeks prior to scheduled performances to prepare ASL interpreters.
TimeLine is also proud to offer:
- A large print program for each production, available by request
- Print-outs of the text of our lobby displays, available by request
- Captioning on all of our video content
- Armless theatre chairs for patron comfort, available by request
