Alvin Katz
Alvin is a partner in the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he has a widely diversified practice representing real estate investors and developers in joint ventures and partnerships, acquisitions and dispositions of real property, debt and equity financings, and management and leasing transactions. During more than 35 years of practice, Alvin has been involved in virtually every aspect of the real estate industry.
In recognition of his accomplishments in real estate law, Alvin has been elected to membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and recognized in Chambers USA, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Guide to the World’s Leading Real Estate Lawyers, Leading Lawyers Network, Super Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal.
Drawn to the work of TimeLine Theatre Company following its production of HISTORY BOYS, Alvin joined TimeLine’s Board of Directors in 2013. Long active in the Chicago theater movement, Alvin served on the Boards of Directors of Body Politic Theatre, Wisdom Bridge Theatre, St. Nicholas Theatre, National Jewish Theatre and Victory Gardens Theatre, where he served as president for three years. Alvin is also a Trustee of the Chicago Architecture Foundation, and a member of the Board of Overseers of the IIT College of Architecture.
Alan has a JD degree from Stanford University Law School and a BA degree in Economics from The University of Michigan.
