Hank Boland

Hank is thrilled to be assisting Liz Auman and the rest of the TimeLine Team as they make their dream of a new home a reality. Over the last three years he’s been supporting with basics as the staff grew, assisting in the coordination of the move from Wellington, and as New Home Project Manager.

Hank is the former Artistic Director of Strawdog Theatre Company (2012-16) where he also held the position of Managing Director and was an Ensemble Member from 2008-2025. He has a bachelor’s degree in film from Columbia College in Chicago and has been an adjunct faculty member in the Film Department there since 2004. In 2014 he earned his MFA in Creative Writing/Playwrighting from Louisville’s Spalding University Low-Residency MFA Program. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the League of Chicago Theatres, as well as a former employee. He independently consults for theatre companies, as well as facilitates company retreats. He is the previous Director of Operations for Sapphire Technologies (1995-2002), and if you want to admit to being this old, you might just remember him as your manager at Blockbuster Video.
