J. CHRISTOPHER BROWN is a director, actor and teaching artist in the Chicago area. He made his TimeLine debut on THE HOW AND THE WHY. Other projects include acting in THE LIAR PARADOX (Stage Left’s Leap Fest) and directing ALMOST AN EVENING (Circle). Other directing credits include TWELFTH NIGHT (OR WHAT YOU WILL) and ALICE IN (Circle’s Emerging Young Artists program). Chris has worked as assistant director for Keira Fromm on several plays, including Jeff Recommended productions of BROADSWORD (The Gift), FALLOW (Steep), LOBBY HERO (Redtwist) and ENFRASCADA (16th Street). Chris had the privilege of serving as Northlight Theatre Academy’s Junior Camp Director for four years, where he wrote, adapted, and directed several student productions, including THE WIZARDS OF SUN CITY, THE LETTER, THE ENORMOUS CROCODILE, ESIO TROT: A TURTLE LOVE STORY, and CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS. Chris earned his MFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
