Jordan David Wallace
Living History Teaching Artist
Jordan David Wallace is a performer, producer, and teaching artist from Chicago. Jordan is a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University with a BFA in Acting. With extensive experience in physical theater, Jordan has trained in clowning, Commedia mask, Balinese mask, and circus acrobatics. They have taught and led residencies for companies such as South Chicago Dance Theater, Congo Square Theatre, Steppenwolf, and TimeLine Theatre. As a collaborator, Jordan integrates devising into their teaching, empowering students to create meaningful work that reflects their own experiences. Jordan’s pedagogy is influenced by Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. Jordan is the proud parent of a sweet kitty named Tooka!

TimeLine’s mission to produce shows focused on our shared history reminds me of the Marcus Garvey quote: “A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” Theater has proven to be one of the most effective ways to connect people to that knowledge.
