Read MoreMildred is inspired by TimeLine’s conscious awareness and drive to expand their storytelling: “Everyone’s perspective deserves to be heard.” A TimeLine company member since 2012, Mildred has appeared in BOULEVARD OF BOLD DREAMS, A RAISIN IN THE SUN, MY KIND OF TOWN, and IN DARFUR. She recalls what made her first experience at TimeLine so memorable:
First, the cast [of IN DARFUR] was a phenomenal group of actors to work with. We really got good at finding ways to keep ourselves emotionally lifted while working on such an emotionally taxing play. Second, was working with Nick Bowling; he brings such a strong sense of musicality to his work. He, along with [projections designer] Mike Tutaj, did an amazing job of marrying the story and the visual components together in a way that was truly compelling. And lastly, TimeLine really took care of us. It’s honestly a theatre company that values its artists.
Her work at TimeLine has been recognized with Black Theatre Alliance Award Nominations for A RAISIN IN THE SUN (2014), and a Special Recognition Black Excellence Award Nomination for Best Actress in a Play for IN DARFUR (2011). She was also a 3Arts Award Nominee for Theatre (2012).
