Sydney Chatman

SYDNEY CHATMAN returns to TimeLine, having previously assistant directed SUNSET BABY. She is an educator, director, producer, writer, and founder of the Tofu Chitlin’ Circuit, and a 14-year theater instructor at University of Chicago Charter School. She was in the SDCF Observership Program, where she worked with the directing team for the Broadway revival and Tony Award-nominated play THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL starring Cicely Tyson. Sydney is a directing fellow with the Lincoln Center Directing Program, an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, board member of the African-American Arts Alliance of Chicago, member of the Black Theater Network, and is featured in the book BLACK THEATER IS BLACK LIFE: THE ORAL HISTORY OF CHICAGO FROM 1970s-2000.
