Sydney Chatman

Sydney is an educator, director, producer, writer and founder of the Tofu Chitlin’ Circuit. She writes plays for youth, most recently BLACK GIRLS (CAN) FLY! She was accepted into the SDCF Observership Program for the Broadway revival and Tony Award-nominated play THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, starring Cicely Tyson, Vanessa Williams and Cuba Gooding, Jr. Sydney is a directing fellow with the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, board member of the African-American Arts Alliance of Chicago, member of the Black Theater Network and is featured in the book BLACK THEATER IS BLACK LIFE: THE ORAL HISTORY OF BLACK THEATRE IN CHICAGO FROM 1970s-2000.
