Like millions of Americans, Clara is doing her best to hold everything together—working hard, raising her tween daughter Stella, caring for an aging father, and supporting her under-employed ex-husband. But when she applies for U.S. citizenship ahead of a mother-daughter trip to Paris, her application is unexpectedly flagged, exposing minor infractions in her past and threatening the only home she’s ever known. A soon-to-be TimeLine world premiere, Sandra Delgado’s Chicago-set Hundreds and Hundreds of Stars blends grounded family drama with otherworldly wonder, and is a moving and provocative exploration of our country’s most fundamental values.

Featuring Charín Alvarez, Ramón Camín, Cruz Gonzalez-Cadel, Simona Gueglio-Saccone, Brian King, and Donovan Marquis, with Audrey S. Romero reading stage directions.

Summer, 1938. Ilona, a concert pianist known as much for her sharp wit as her musical passion, refuses to be ruled by fear, even as fellow Jewish artists flee Hungary. Surely Budapest is safe from the growing Nazi fervor – isn’t it? Filled with intrigue, music, and wry humor, In the Grove of Forgetting is a taut emotional thriller, as a woman caught in one of history’s darkest moments fights to find a way forward.

Featuring Becky Keeshin, Steven Marzolf, Will Mobley, Ron E. Rains, and Amy Herzberg, with Beric Orion reading stage directions.
