Lookingglass Theatre

Lookingglass Theatre is located in the historic Water Tower Water Works, 163 E. Pearson St., Chicago, IL 60611, on the southeast corner of Michigan Avenue, just south of Water Tower Place. Enter through the wooden double doors at 163 E. Pearson St.

Before and after your visit, we invite you to grab a drink at the bar or enjoy the wide variety of restaurants and other shops within walking distance of the theatre, in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

DRIVING

From the Northern and Northwest Suburbs

Take the Kennedy Expressway (90-94) and exit at Ohio St. Take Ohio east to Michigan Ave. Turn left onto Michigan Ave. and proceed north to Pearson St. and turn right. The entrance to the theatre will be on your right.

From the Loop

Take Michigan Ave north to Pearson St. and turn right. The entrance to the theatre will be on your right.

From the Southern Suburbs

Take the Kennedy Expressway (90-94) to DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Exit onto E. Chestnut St. Turn left (south) onto Michigan Ave, and your next left is Pearson St. Turn left and the entrance to the theatre is on your right.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

CTA Red Line trains

Exit at Chicago Red Line station. Walk three blocks east to Michigan Ave. Turn left (north) on Michigan Ave. and proceed north one block to Pearson St. Turn right onto Pearson. Theatre will be on your right in the Water Tower Water Works building. 

CTA Brown and Purple Line trains

Exit at Chicago Brown/Purple Line Station at Chicago and Franklin. Take the #66 (Chicago) bus or walk about 8 blocks east to Michigan Ave. Turn left (north) on Michigan Ave. and proceed north one block to Pearson St. Turn right onto Pearson. Theatre will be on your right in the Water Tower Water Works building.

#66 (Chicago), #146 (Inner Drive/Michigan Express), #151 (Sheridan), and #147 (Outer Drive Express).

PARKING LOTS

Lookingglass provides validation or discounts for patrons who park in the following lots near the theatre:

875 N. Michigan Ave.
  • Cars must enter this garage after 12pm to receive discount
  • Enter through the ramp on Delaware Pl. or Chestnut St.
  • Up to six (6) hours for $12
  • Bring your parking ticket to the Box Office for validation
Water Tower Place
  • Enter from 175 E. Chestnut St.
  • Up to four (4) hours for $15 OR between four (4) and seven (7) for $18
  • Let the box office know you parked at Water Tower Place and we will provide a QR code for validation
The Olympia Centre
  • Enter from 161 E. Chicago Ave.
  • Up to six (6) hours for $11
  • Bring your parking ticket to the box office for validation

STREET PARKING

Downtown Chicago has limited street parking. We recommend using apps such as SpotHero to find available spots around the theatre if you are not using one of the recommended garages. 

Please allow ample extra time if you are looking for street parking.
