Writers Theatre is conveniently located in Glencoe in the heart of Chicago’s North Shore communities, just east of the Edens expressway and steps from the Metra Union Pacific North train line.

Directions and Parking


PARKING

For best available parking, Writers recommends the Metra commuter lots just east of Green Bay Road.

There is also street parking in Glencoe available. Please note that there is a two-hour limit in the downtown business district until 5:30pm Monday through Saturday.


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

CTA / Pace

Pace bus #213 (northbound) regularly departs from the Davis CTA Purple Line. Exit the bus at Park Ave & Green Bay Road. Turn left (west) on Park Ave (crossing Green Bay Road). Walk west two blocks to Vernon Avenue. Turn right (north) onto Vernon and walk 1 block to Tudor Court. Turn right (east) onto Tudor Court. The destination will be on your left.

Metra

Take the Metra Union Pacific/North line to the Glencoe stop. Exit the train and head southeast on Old Green Bay Road. Turn right (west) on Park Ave and cross Green Bay Road. Walk west two blocks to Vernon Avenue. Turn right (north) onto Vernon and walk 1 block to Tudor Court. Turn right (east) onto Tudor Court. The destination will be on your left.

Writers Theatre offers the following services:

  • Accessible parking spaces outside each theatre venue.
  • Drop-off lane by the building’s main entrance.
  • Accessible entrances to each theatre venue.
  • Doorbell at the main entrance to request assistance with the front doors.
  • Courtesy wheelchair to assist with entering the building and theatre spaces.
  • Wheelchair accessible seating. Depending on your preference, you may transfer into a theatre seat or request to have the theatre seat removed to remain in the wheelchair. When reserving your FlexPass tickets through TimeLine, let us know and we will coordinate with Writers to make sure you have seating that meets your needs.
  • Elevator access to second-level seating, Grand Gallery Walk and Stephanie and Bill Sick Rooftop Terrace and Garden.
