Setting the Stage: RELENTLESS
Playwright (and TimeLine Company Member) Tyla Abercrumbie takes us into the world of RELENTLESS and how this story set in 1919 and written prior to the events of this past March features characters who have weathered a great deal—revolution, change, even a pandemic—in ways that we see mirrored in our present day.
RELENTLESS was also featured in our FREE Setting the Stage public program series that streamed live in September of 2020. RELENTLESS: THE JOURNEY FROM THE BLACK VICTORIAN TO BLACK LIVES MATTER featured playwright Tyla Abercrumbie, dramaturg Khalid Long, and scenes from the play performed by cast members Ayanna Bria Bakari*, Travis Delgado, and Marguerite Genard, and was stage managed by Miranda Anderson*. The event culminated in a panel discussion moderated by Khalid featuring Tyla, director Ron OJ Parson, and guest panelist La Donna L. Forsgren (Associate Professor in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame).
