Cortelyou Commons is located on DePaul University’s Lincoln Park campus. Originally built in 1929, “the Commons” was remodeled in 2006. 

We’ve included some parking and public transportation details below.

Directions and Parking


PARKING

Street Parking

Limited street parking is free south of the building on West Belden Avenue. Make sure to plan ahead if you intend on utilizing the free street parking.

Parking Garage

TimeLine is able to validate parking in the parking garage at 2331 N Sheffield Avenue. The garage is open 24/7 and is staffed. Guests must pull a ticket when they arrive. See TimeLine staff for a validation voucher to present to garage staff upon exit. There are accessible parking spaces within the garage. Validated rates for stays 12 hours or fewer are as follows: 

  • Weekdays (enter before 4pm) $13
  • Weekdays (enter after 4pm) $10
  • Saturday and Sunday (all day) $10

Please note that the garage on Sheffield has a 6’10” clearance. 

DROP-OFF

Vehicle access to the Commons is limited from Fullerton Parkway. If you are dropping off a guest at Cortelyou Commons, enter the drop-off area by driving east on West Belden Avenue. Turn north onto North Chalmers Place and make a left onto West Chalmers Place. Follow the one-way signage through the residential area to the front of the Commons.


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The Commons is located just steps from the Fullerton Red/Brown/Purple Line train stop. 

The #74 Fullerton bus is nearby, as well as the #8 Halsted. The #22 Clark bus stops at Clark and Fullerton, about a 15 minute walk away.

Cortelyou Commons is accessible for those who use walkers or wheelchairs, and staff are happy to assist should you need mobility or wayfinding support. 

Seating

Although seating for performances is general admission, accessible seats may be requested for patrons who need specific seating due to disability. If you require accessible seating, please let us know when you place your reservation how we may assist you in finding the best seats to fit your needs.

Service Animals: If you will be attending with a service animal, please let us know in advance so we can make sure you and your service animal have the best experience possible.

If you prefer to order your tickets online, you may request special reserved seat locations based on your preferences by providing these codes in the order comment box:

  • TRANSFER: Use this code if you wish to transfer to a seat from a walker, wheelchair, or scooter. Our staff will be on hand to then store your mobility device in a secure location.
  • REMOVAL: Use this code of you require a location where a seat can be removed for you to stay in your wheelchair or scooter while you watch the performance.
  • NOSTAIRS: Use this code if you require a location where there are no stairs between you and your seats.

NOTE: There are a limited number of accessible seats per performance and we cannot guarantee that larger parties will be seated in the same row.

IMPORTANT: Reserved accessible seating will be released to other patrons if not claimed by 10 minutes prior to curtain.
