TV … movies … awards … there’s lots of fun news to share about members of the TimeLine artistic family this week:

Mark your calendar and/or set your TiVo — TimeLine Company Member David Parkes (you’ve seen him on our stage most recently in Not Enough Air) goes toe-to-toe with Patrick Swayze in a guest-starring role on the A&E series The Beast this week! David’s episode, entitled “Tilt,” airs on Thursday, March 26 at 10 pm (9 pm C.S.T.). If you don’t have cable, you can watch the full episode after the air date online at http://www.aetv.com/the-beast/. And you can check out that link now for a great 30-second preview clip featuring David (he gets to play the bad guy)!

Company Member Janet Ulrich Brooks (most recently on our stage as Sophie Treadwell in Not Enough Air) was in Ann Arbor, Mich., last week to film a scene opposite Oscar-winner Hilary Swank for the movie Betty Anne Waters. The film is directed by Tony Goldwyn and according to imdb.com, is scheduled to be released later this year. Stay tuned to “Behind the ‘Line” for Janet’s story of her surreal day on a Hollywood movie set!

Associate Artist and lighting designer Keith Parham (Fiorello!) will receive the The Michael Maggio Emerging Designer Award at the 16th Annual Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration program on Monday, April 27. The event takes place at the Steppenwolf Merle Reskin Garage Theatre and will feature a Theatre Design Expo showcasing the works of more than 20 Chicago-area emerging theatrical designers and a discussion entitled “Moving Chicago Productions to New York and Beyond.” If you would like to attend, tickets are $35 per person; $15 for members of the theatre community; and $5 for students; just call (312) 344-6105 or email robmilburn@ameritech.net to order or for more information.

Congrats to all!

“Tilt” was a great episode! I was really happy to hear the song “Raspberry Rush” by The Promise Ring, so I blogged about it http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/03/27/the-beast-old-fave/
