Can I have your vote?

This is a bit of a pleading blog post. But I need your help.

As some of you may know, in 2006 I was on the TV show Check, Please! on WTTW Channel 11 – a restaurant review show where each week they have 3 guests serve as “reviewers.” At the time I recommended the restaurant Carnivale and also got to visit and talk about two other restaurants with my fellow guest reviewers. My episode has been re-run several times in the years since and each time I hear from friends and even TimeLine patrons who caught the show and perhaps had no idea I had such a strong interest in food and dining!

Well, to my astonishment, I was recently contacted because in honor of the Check, Please! 10th Anniversary they have chosen 25 of their favorite guests from the last 10 years to compete for their “All Star” shows this fall.

So I am asking you to vote online for me. Please!

Because I really really don’t want to get destroyed in this competition. And, frankly, I think I might. I am up against, um, for example the President of the United States! Yep, President Obama is one of the 25 guests that I’m up against. They will pick 12 guests, based totally on online voting. My goal is to not finish last. Can you help?

So please take 30 seconds and vote for me. It’s quite simple. Just visit the Check, Please! voting site, submit your vote and fill out the information required. In return for voting, you are entered into a raffle, with prizes including a chance for you and a guest to visit the taping of a Check, Please! episode. Click here for a list of the raffle prizes.

I believe that you can only vote once but I welcome (and encourage) creative ways to increase number of votes and spreading the word to anyone you know who might find it in their heart to vote for me.

Thank you so much! We’ll keep you posted on what happens.
